“He kisses the lips who gives an honest answer.” – Proverbs 24:26
The mission of the Roundtable has never been to become an “institution” headquartered in Washington, D.C. anchored in brick and mortar seeking to influence the elites of American pop-political culture. Such is not our calling.
The model we have embraced is one of service in the field. We do the work of public policy every day. Our clothes smell smoky, like the wilderness. Our cars usually need washed. And we spend all the money people so graciously give to reach and teach America every single day in the field. We started the journey together almost 40 years ago. For the past 30 years we have been on the radio every single day teaching America. The list of missions accomplished would fill a good-sized book. The new laws written, the bad laws defeated, ballot issues, Supreme Court cases, constitutional amendments, new voters registered, iVoters.com, The Public Square® radio network, Christmas in America, all victories for life, liberty and families in real time.
Now after 40 years of living off laptops and rented office space, we are holding a once in a lifetime event. All because of your faithful prayers, friendship and support we are now ready to raise a gathering place for the Next Generation. Thanks to a generous donation of five-acres of prime land in Valley City, Ohio we are now ready to break ground and begin to build The American Mission® Center.
The model is service—to strategic markets across the nation.
This new gathering place will serve as our national headquarters, including:
• new studios for the national Public Square Media Network,
• a new research library for the American Election Institute and iVoters.com and
• a campus to teach children and families the true story of American Liberty—every day.
The groundbreaking is Thursday, July 4th, 2019.
Because of your partnership in prayer and giving, we invite you to join with us in this inspiring moment. Dress is casual and please bring shoes for the wilderness. The new building will be on a wooded lot, surrounded by hickory and pine trees. Some things won’t ever change. (For more information, mail back this month’s response form to let us know you’re interested.)
“You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”
The only hope for America is for we the people to return to the self-evident truths of our Founding. This is where this mission started 40 years ago. This truth has not changed, nor has our commitment to seek for the truth and share the light of truth in the Public Square.
Truth has a ripple effect. As we seek to share the truth, others begin to do the same. Thus the truth ripples out to family, friends, donors and allies. Soon that network begins to grow to more kitchen tables, congregations, schools and businesses. Together, we then take The Public Square® programs to thousands more across 200 radio stations. Then the ripples of truth expand into the daily world of civil government. Together we take positive alternatives in public policy to statehouses, governors’ mansions, courtrooms, boardrooms, to Congress, the White House and to the American media. And there we meet an even wider circle, a watching world of citizens, to whom we have an opportunity to bear witness that Biblical Truth provides real answers to the deepest questions of the 21st Century.
America is a nation founded upon the reality of self-evident truth.
Which is the reason contemporary politicians and pundits are so desperately floundering about on the news every night. Today’s “leaders” for the most part have been raised in a worldview of moral relativism where the concept of transcendent truth does not exist. They learned a “mythical” version of American history. Thus we have the absurd contradictions that flow every day from the U.S. Congress. These pop-culture “leaders” are proud to talk about “my truth” or “their truth”, but they refuse to talk about “true-truth”. They are like children playing with amazing toys but without the batteries. They have no understanding of real power so they pretend that political power is the real quest.
Without self-evident truths, America simply does not exist. This is the clear confession of the Declaration of Independence and the careful design of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Northwest Ordinance. It is the truth of our shared history.
For the past 40 years we have raised this banner: Now it is time to prepare for the next 40 years of the struggle for Liberty.
Some of us (mostly the type-A’s among us) had hoped that we could get this nation back on track and see the fruit of that effort in one lifetime. However, the struggle for Liberty is a struggle of the human will. It is a struggle that is renewed in every generation which is why it is so desperately important that the children of this hour not be robbed of the opportunity to learn the true history of America. This is why the model of walking out truth-telling in the arena of public policy must be upheld for the next generation.
These kids are going to need all our help.
We are not in Mayberry anymore. The train left that station a long time back. We are no longer in a culture where the home, the church, the Academy and popular media all promoted the unique value of the individual and the common good. We are now in a culture where truth has stumbled in the streets and our kids are raised in a fractured worldview where they are forced to choose a tribal identity and then fight to survive. The world our kids face is more like the Hunger Games and it is getting worse.
The American Mission® Center is an outpost in the wilderness for the Next Generation. Here we will gather, do the research, tell the story of Liberty and reach out to battle in the arena of public policy in key regions across the nation. So on July 4th, three generations of Roundtable missionaries will join to break the ground for The American Mission® Center. The Founding Generation will be there. Their children (several of whom now lead the Roundtable) will also be there. And their children, the third generation, will be the ones turning over the earth to start the building of The American Mission® Center.
Together, these kids are America’s best hope. Now we must gather up all our resources and give them every possible tool and resource to move forward in strength.
This month, as you consider your charitable giving, I pray you will see this vision anew, through the eyes of these children, who are the future of America and of Liberty on earth. We all support many worthy charities and works of service, as we should. I pray that you will take a hard look into the future in the context of prayer, and ask God how much He would call you to give—for true Liberty for the Next Generation.
May we give as never before—for true Liberty.
