The Unmasking

Mar 29, 2018

The New York Times has an op-ed from former Justice John Paul Stevens yesterday. In the article, he clearly states his belief that the Second Amendment was a relic from the eighteenth century, and should be repealed. Interestingly enough, he says that removing it would be “easy”. Yes he wrote that. Easy? It would state the approval of two-thirds of Congress and three-fourths of the states. Doesn’t sound easy to me.

But I digress. The thing that really struck me, however, was a former Justice of the US Supreme Court blatantly saying that there is no individual right to keep and bear arms. (Does he then also believe that the First Amendment rights also are not individual rights? What are they then…”collective” rights? It is clear that this firmer Justice believes that only the state has the right to gun ownership.

You can trust the government you know.

It used to be that people would tell me, “Oh no one wants to take your guns. No one wants to get rid of the Second Amendment. ” Hmmm. Apparently some feel bold enough to remove the mask, and show the true agenda many of us have long suspected.
