The Establishment Whine

“Donald is not from around here, right.” That sort of sums up the comments of Senate President Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. In a recent speech back home, McConnell lamented that Trump’s expectations of the Legislative process are simply unrealistic and based on inexperience. In other words, he just doesn’t get how the Senate works.

When Barack Obama was elected and the House and Senate were briefly in his control, he wasted no time steamrolling Obamacare through the Congress. Not once did a single member of his party criticize his initiative, drive, speed or expectations. Several Democrats supported Obamacare knowing it would cost them re-election, which it did.

No Democrats criticized President Obama for expecting change. What is it about governing to solve problems that is so hard for Republican leaders to understand?
